Celebrating Singapore's Birthday with the NIKKOR 8-15mm Fisheye Zoom

Since my initial sharing of images captured with the AF-S Fisheye NIKKOR 8-15mm f/3.5-4.5E ED zoom lens, I had a couple of requests to use this lens to capture fireworks.

So off I went to join the masses that were parking themselves all over Marina Bay in anticipation of the fireworks finale.

My goal was to produce interesting & appealing "crystal ball" like images at the 8mm focal length which as you know by now produces a circular image with a black frame. I spent some effort trying to figure out the best location and finally decided on the water Lilies pond left of the Artscience Museum. To be honest I picked that location also because of easy access to the MRT station after the whole show was over and a place to sit, relax and park my camera setup without too many people crowding around me.

We were also fortunate to be blessed with an epic sunset which actually "burned" for quite a long while. So how did the images turn out ? Well you judge for yourself.
